  1. Malaya What If

Hi vl100butch, Nellie?, that's a horse in my book! hey Fatboy, just channeling my inner Keith Jackson calling an Iron Bowl football game... can't wait to see the trains run into the Japanese...
  2. Malaya What If

WHOA NELLIE!!!!! Very practical use of armored trains...Brits are moving out fast, getting ahead of the Japanese OODA curve in my opinion....
  3. Malaya What If

Just an interesting twist with timing….MATADOR is going down on Dec 7…do you think the average American is going to care when on Dec 7!
  4. Sir John Valentine Carden Survives. Part 2.

Please accept my apologies in advance, but what would be available from the remains of the MN? The two battle-cruisers with an updated AAA suite would be very useful IF they are still available.
  5. Tommy Dorsey and the U.S. Army Band

GOOD GRIEF!!!!!! First, Ronald Reagan did serve, he was a Reserve officer who was diverted back to Hollywood by the Army (not his choice)....this is documented. The following is Overcome by events due to operator headspace: I thought the word was "wait" rather than "wail": NO USO tours...
  6. Onderzeeboot Nekt Navalisme - Or: The Dutch Submarine Service during World War 2

This a very interesting premise. The RNN with decent submarines and doctrine to use them with torpedoes that worked.
  7. What if relief force to Wake Island (December 1941) was not recalled ?

What would the Japanese fuel situation look like after a couple of days operations around Wake?
  8. Malaya What If

For all the talk about the UK/NL/US problems, what about the Japanese? Everything that Gort and company has accomplished so far will make Malaya a much tougher nut to crack. Will the wheels fall off the Japanese offensives in various places because don't have the logistical capability to be...
  9. Malaya What If

What effect does the British war alert have on the USN? I'm going to ignore Mac because of Sutherland and Willoughby being in rectal defilade. If Hart takes the British alert seriously and implements some alert measures for the USN, can that throw a spoke in the wheel of the Japanese...
  10. Malaya What If

Will there be a flying squirrel recon force attached to Bullwinkle Force?
  11. Malaya What If

S-Boats with the Mark X aren't the newest, but can still make things difficult for the Japanese...Brereton actually getting prepared for war could make a BIG difference!
  12. What if MacArthur was killed in Korea after Inchon commenced, but before major Chinese offensive in 1950?

Would Walker have put up with Willoughby and Sutherland? Get rid of those two when Mac died and potentially have a chance of accurate intel.
  13. Keynes' Cruisers Volume 2

Fester, sad to see this end, but glad to have been along for the ride. BRAVO ZULU my friend!
  14. Malaya What If

If I could alter history of this time period and region I'd call Mac back CONUS on 1 November 1940, taking Willoughby, Sutherland, and Brerton with him. Then "temporarily" put Wainwright in charge with specific orders to fortify Battan...among other things, get all the ammo moved out of Manila...
  15. Is it possible for Edwin Edwards to have a career in national politics?

I like Edwin as well, he was certainly a lot more fun than a lot of Louisiana governors....the suggestion that he stay in the House and work his way up the leadership ladder is a good one...as POTUS, he'd be a disaster.
  16. Is it possible for Edwin Edwards to have a career in national politics?

Well, Ed-wanh served in the House before being elected Governor. I could see him running for the Senate after the retirement of Russell Long. I don't think he'd translate well nationally though.
  17. Keynes' Cruisers Volume 2

Fester, Did the Donohue's get a VA loan under the provisions of the GI Bill? He was certainly entitled.
  18. The Enola Gay crashes on the tarmac and Little Boy detonates, destroying the worlds largest airfield.

A detonation of Little Boy would be in department of Act of God or direct intervention of an Alien Space Bat because the bomb wasn't armed until well into the flight. Fat Man would have required a similar scenario...plutonium bombs really need a specific sequence of events to detonate.
  19. Malaya What If

Dill is buried in Arlington National Cemetery...showing the regard and respect he was held by George Marshall.
  20. What if Henry Turtledove never wrote Alternate History books?

I had to think about this for a minute or two. The story you’re talking about is the last story in a collection called “Gold From Crete” by C. S. Forester (the creator and author of the Horatio Hornblower books). Personally, I’d say that the 1632 series and the ability to participate through...
